Biryani Blues is located in the Scindia House on the outer circle of Connaught Place right opposite Junkyard Café. With an easy on eyes color scheme and easy setup, the place looks bright and spacious. The food served here is Mughlai and Hyderabadi cuisine with specialty in variety of Biryanis offered. Soon while exploring the menu options, I spotted the combo option of a starter and biryani enough to satisfy one person’s appetite. So, my friend and me didn’t waste any time further and ordered two combos of all different varieties.
Nargisi Kebab – An Awadhi specialty with a boiled Indian scotch egg covered with minced meat and then fried till cooked perfectly. A great starter with amazing traditional spices is a must for starters.
Chicken Nizami – Boneless chicken pieces are cooked in amazingly flavored in-house spices and topped with green and red chilly to garnish. Nice starter or even a side dish to go along with your meal.
Chicken Biryani – Perfectly cooked fragrant rice were really good with the really tender and succulent chicken pieces. Served with nicely spicy salan gravy and mix raita, the whole meal was just perfect.
Mutton Biryani – As chicken biryani, mutton biryani didn’t disappoint either with nice fragrant rice and cooked to perfection tender mutton pieces. Served similarly with salan gravy and mix raita, this is a delight for all mutton lovers.
Fresh Lime Soda (Mix) – An all time favourite when you can’t choose what to order. With a generous usage of sweet and salt, this was probably one of the best sodas I have recently tried.
Finally I would happily rate this place a 4/5 for the food quality & quantity, taste, ambience, cost and cut remaining for the sloppy staff service.
